Slow Cooker Salsa Verde Tacos

Ever since I discovered making chicken tacos in my slow cooker, I have been hooked. I have tried salsa chicken tacos, chicken ranch tacos,  buffalo chicken tacos, etc. I switched it up last night and made these. Surprisingly, my kids all loved them too! Since Monday is my “clean the house” day, I was short on time when it came to dinner. I threw the ingredients in the slow cooker around 11 in the morning, and when dinner time rolled around, I was good to go. I keep a container of my homemade refried beans in the freezer, so I took that out, thawed them, and served it as a side dish! Not only is this dinner incredibly simple, it is also quite flavorful!! 

1-2 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder (you could also use 1/2 cup chopped onion if desired)
1/4 tsp ground cumin
1 (16oz) jar salsa verde
Flour Tortillas
Shredded cheese, sour cream, and any other desired topping
Place chicken on bottom of slow cooker. Sprinkle seasonings on top of chicken. Pour salsa on top of chicken. Cover slow cooker with lid and cook on low 6-7 hours, high 3-4 hours. Shred with two forks once cooked. If too liquidy for you, you may remove 1/2 cup of salsa. *I used a slotted spoon to scoop up the chicken into our tacos, and poured salsa over the beans and rice!
